Closing Chapters & Stepping into the NEW: Farewell 2024!

Writer's picture: Jenny DipasupilJenny Dipasupil

We done good, everyone! I'm psyched for 2025! How about you?

I'm so ready to feed my soul even more and embody the creativity that was lost during times of trauma and intensity as a sensitive being.

What chapters are you closing and what might you be opening to next year?

We know that in order to step into the new (AKA transform and change), there must be endings. I never used to think of it as grieving the old versions of myself, but I get that now. I understand what that feels like in my bones and what that means for my soul.

Ego deaths are rough. And they're really where this journey is at. You can't grow and evolve without letting go of old ways of thinking and being.

It's wild to me how much has been shed this year collectively as well as personally. I've been in so many life-changing, nurturing, supportive environments this year because I chose wisely. I listened to my intuition.

I created a safe place for myself in the containers that were so skillfully offered. I finally took true ownership of my life. I started creating what I REALLY wanted.

I encourage you to look back on your calendar and take stock. You'll be surprised (and delighted) by what you remember! Or maybe you're just so f*cking glad this year is over. I get that.

As happy as I sound in this moment, know that I moved through sh*t and stayed in it at times perhaps longer than I would have liked. I went through a thaw. And a freeze (again) and many, many iterations of fight and flight. MANY. We cycle through the releases and integrations. This is life as we feel it in real time. The spirals continue.

I share this highlight reel because it's worth celebrating! I've spent way too many years in needless suffering. Now's the time to break free and just be here in enjoyment.

  • Life with Aaron: Tales of dating a Jewish man. lol Yeah. This is one of those relationships that I just did not anticipate AT ALL. (insert emoji cry face here) It only took me 3 years to realize that I could open my heart up again after decades in shut down. Thanks for being so patient and forgiving, babe. I'm so grateful for this time with you. As we have realized it before and live it everyday, our inner children have THE MOST FUN together. Here's to more travel and adventure in 2025!

  • If you're looking for dating advice, here's what I've got... You think you know what you want and you need... You don't! lol Especially if you're letting ego lead you in and out of connections. It's heart and Spirit that will guide you best.

  • We all know how hard it is to rebuild trust in yourself after a ton of heartache and disappointment. Hurt and sh*tty conditioning surrounding romance make us want to give up. Don't! Consider giving people who don't fit your idealized vision of a partner a chance. Take the time to know someone's heart especially if you notice how they touch into yours.

  • There's chemistry and then there's trauma bonding. Ay. Pay attention. No one needs to be rescued and every connection requires nurturing. There's your energy, your partner's (or partners'), and then there's your combined energies. That's where the magic sauce is. What are you creating together? What are you all choosing to bring to the table?

  • I have a vision of helping my single clients find love! I'm not sure what that looks like just yet. Let me know if you have any ideas!

  • It was a complete joy mentoring individuals on a spiritual path this year! I've absolutely loved guiding my mentees. Thank you for trusting me with your awesome journey. I'm so excited for you no matter what ends up unfolding. You are all amazing!

    • There's something about the energy of the unknown. It's not just scary. It's f*cking exciting because you have the power to make sh*t happen!

    • It's been incredibly fulfilling reconnecting with my nieces and nephews who I'm so super proud of and HEY we can't forget my phenomenal daughter, the one-and-only BUGGY (AKA Sydney). I love you so much, kiddo. (HUGS) YOU ARE MY #1 inspiration.

  • REIKI. REIKI. REIKI. I cannot begin to tell you the wild ups and downs Reiki has guided me through. It's been an exploration of faith and trust and ultimately SURRENDER. The journey continues... I open to receive whatever it is I need in 2025!

  • Physical Therapy with INOVA Ballston! My elbows. My shoulder. My hips. Holy f*ck. I really came back into my body this year! There was an extended disconnect prior to pandemic through 2023 and thank G-d I finally came back home to me! Thank you Monica and Makenzie! You're the best! And a big thank you to...

  • CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY and all of the many sessions I've personally experienced with amazing practitioners like Karen Durana and in class with Suzanne Scurlock and Eric Moya. And we can't overlook the amazing work I've done with clients. The healing depths have been INCREDIBLE.

  • DANCE FITNESS WITH AMANDA. TAHITIAN HULA + BELLY DANCE AT LOCAL MOTION PROJECT. 5Rhythms® with Ann Kite & FIERCE HEART with Sylvie Minot. OMG. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF THE HEALING HERE!!! I cannot emphasize this enough! You just gotta move. You gotta listen to what's within. It's all here!

Healing through dance and movement.

  • MINDFULNESS & MEDITATION: Shell Fischer is the G.O.A.T.!!! I think my #1 highlight of the year was attending her weeklong silent retreat on the 5 Hindrances.

  • Online courses with LINDSAY MACK & MARYAM HASNAA were so much fun, immensely informative, and super helpful! YAS.

  • ALEXANDRIA MYOTHERAPY: THANK YOU DINA (best boss ever!), Mary, Hillary, Marc, Teneisha, Allison, Sheri, Ayumi, Rita, Darla, Leane, and Nicole. I love you guys so much!

  • ALL THE HEALING WORKSHOPS & SESSIONS I attended from Breathwork with Allison Tilluma to Sound Healing with Anna Neimark and Reiki trades with Jasper Werntz and Tim Dombro. Acupuncture with Beth at Jade & Jasmine. Shirodhara with Patience at Healing Matrix. Thank you all SO MUCH!!!

  • I can't skip all the mad exploration I've done with music, podcasts, books, art, FOOD, and ALL OF THE THINGS!!! Cacao, Philadelphia Museum of Art, YELLOW, Molly McCord, TBM, Jenna Zoe, Mark Groves, Abi Balingit's Adobo Chocolate Chip Cookies!!! All of the books I took out from Arlington Public Library. Every trip I've made to Barnes & Noble and used bookstores. Every song on repeat on Spotify and fun searches on YouTube. OMG. LEE HARRIS. Exploring coaching, grief work, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, ENERGY EVERYTHING. Intuitive development. Tarot and oracle decks (Mystic Mondays Crystal Grid deck is this year's fave!). JEWELRY (Metal and Stone Creations!!!). My plants! The view from my apartment. My tiny kitchen. Sydney's art on our walls. The one painting I made this year. LOL. ALL the journal writing and blog writing I did. ALL THE ITERATIONS OF MY WEBSITE(S) AND BRANDING. All the meditations and astral travels. Timeline jumps. Kuan Yin. Andy's Pizza. Falafel Inc. Alaskan Essences. My trusty crystals. My Vitamix. LOL. Homemade soup. Italian Store. Slipstream's miso hot chocolate (I miss you!). Ken Honda. Radha & Miki Agrawal. Cherry Bombe. Planning a snowboarding trip to CO with my love.

  • And last but not least, my greatest healing balm is my life's work and the connections I facilitate for my clients, my colleagues, my friends, my family: my whole darn network.

    • My mission in life is to link folks to information, resources, and one another! It's my greatest pleasure to do this for you all whether I receive anything in return or not. I just love helping everyone thrive. Here's to more joy and celebration in 2025! YAY!
